Mobility restrictions and the temporary closure of recreational activities during the health contingency due to the COVID-19 pandemic put our favorite sports on hiatus, and diving in Cozumel was no exception. The good news is that since last June 30 the light changed to orange, and on September 3 to yellow, so that diving lovers can practice it safely, following the safety and prevention measures established by the Ministry of Health, CDC and DAN.
For foreign tourists, traveling to Cozumel is easier and safer than traveling to other countries. In Mexico, a 14-day quarantine or a COVID-19 test is not required before entering the country, it is only requested to complete a health questionnaire, and thermal cameras are used at airports to detect people with fever. In addition all the staff wears face protection equipment, antibacterial gel, the areas are sanitized frequently and the temperature is monitored in all tourist places.
This has been possible thanks to the Strategic Plan for Economic and Tourist Reactivation of Cozumel, which guarantees tourists that they will be able to visit more than 30 places to dive safely on the island.
At Blue Project Cozumel we follow (and we obtained the CPPSIT certification from SEDETUR and each member of the team obtained the IMSS certification) the safety recommendations, so our boats and diving equipment are disinfected after each use to provide all the peace of mind you need and only worry about having fun. Also change of nozzles, mat, antibacterial gel and disinfection of personal items before getting on the boat.
Cozumel is the best place to dive and maintain social distancing measures in public, so you will enjoy tours without large crowds and you will delight in the beauty of the Caribbean Sea in a more intimate setting.
Between September and November, it is low season in Cozumel but you will enjoy a spectacular climate, even though the weather applications warn of thunderstorms every day, you will have only a few sporadic rains, strong, yes but very localized. In fact, it can rain in the center and be sunny over the reef. Do not hesitate to ask us about the current conditions when you book your diving package in advance.
With us you will find dive operators who will give you an unforgettable experience since our mission is to share our knowledge and passion for diving with you, following the prevention measures that will give you the security you need.
Don’t wait any longer, check out all the packages we have for you and book today with Blue Project Cozumel.
